“Problem I Wish I Had” flips the usual heartbreak story on its head. It captures the moment a woman feels invisible in her own relationship while another man notices everything her partner ignores. As he watches her being taken for granted, he realizes the so-called “problem” her boyfriend complains about — her fire, her passion, her intensity — is exactly what he’d be grateful to have.

It’s a confident, slightly rebellious take on missed appreciation, where neglect opens the door for someone else to value what was almost lost.

This song captures the ache of trying to move on while your heart keeps circling back. “Wrong Turn at Your Driveway” follows a man who swears he’s not looking for her, yet every road seems to lead him right past the memories they built. What starts as a casual late-night drive turns into a quiet confession — he didn’t need directions, he needed distance.

It’s a story about muscle memory of the heart. About how habits, places, even a porch light can pull you backward. He tells himself he’s just driving, just passing through — but deep down he knows he’s not lost at all. He’s stuck between letting go and not wanting to.

The highway represents freedom. The driveway represents what he can’t quite leave behind. And that tension is the whole engine of the song.

“Ain’t Been Long” tells the story of a love that burned fast and faded even faster. After a painful breakup, a man finds himself replaying the moments that built their relationship — late-night bars, beach promises, and reckless passion — wondering how something that felt forever could disappear so quickly. It’s a reflection on heartbreak that still feels fresh, where the memories are louder than the goodbye and the question of what went wrong refuses to let him move on.

“Erase” is a raw and honest song written for anyone who has lost someone they loved deeply—a child, a parent, a friend—and wakes up each day carrying that weight. It speaks to the quiet moments, the memories that never leave, and the impossible wish to erase the pain while knowing that love is the reason it hurts so much. This song doesn’t try to offer easy answers; it simply stands with those who are grieving, acknowledging the strength it takes to keep moving forward when life is forever changed.

Mark Ware recently cut and released my song “Heaven Over Georgia,” bringing his signature production style and musical insight to the project. This collaboration highlights the heart of the song and marks a meaningful release for The Roger Fournier Project.

Mark Ware recently recorded (“cut”) my song “Jesus, Girls and Cold Beer.” It’s a high-energy, modern country track that blends small-town authenticity with a bold, memorable hook—grounded in faith, freedom, and the everyday moments people actually live. Mark’s cut brings the lyric to life with a confident vocal and a production that hits hard while keeping the message front and center. I’m proud to have this one in his catalog and excited for listeners to hear it.

Meet my producer: Ken Royster.
I want y’all to meet Ken Royster—my producer and the guy helping turn these songs into records. Ken’s an Emmy Award–winning producer and the owner/operator of Direct Image Studio in Nashville, and he’s got a reputation for doing this the right way: serve the song, protect the lyric, and make the track feel like something. Sue Basko+2Songwriting Pro+2

Ken’s also been part of major Nashville work—he’s credited as an engineer on Luke Combs’ “Hurricane” (yep, that “Hurricane”). Apple Music - Web Player

What I love most is how he builds a record around a song. Ken pulls in top-tier Nashville musicians—the kind of players who’ve been on a lot of charting records—so everything you hear sounds alive, tight, and real. Then he brings it all together with a sound that’s big, but still honest.

I’m proud to have Ken in my corner… and I can’t wait for y’all to hear what we’re cooking up.

        Hobbies

Roger Fournier doesn’t approach songwriting as a casual hobby—he puts real heart and purpose into every song, with the long-term goal of earning a mainstream artist cut. Outside of writing, Roger has a deep passion for classic muscle cars. He currently owns a 1970 Chevelle he’s had for more than 20 years—purchased for $10,000 and now valued in the six figures—along with a 1968 Hemi Barracuda convertible and a 1973 392 Hemi Challenger. He’s also in the process of building a 30×40 shop to support this passion.

Roger’s creativity carries into hands-on projects as well. He’s been developing custom classic car end tables, using steering wheels for the tabletop and brake drums or rotors as the base. In addition, he’s an avid acoustic guitar collector and currently owns a Taylor 414 Custom, a Gibson SJ-200 Bob Dylan Anniversary Edition, a Gibson Hummingbird, a Gibson Hummingbird Elite (Koa edition), a Martin D-41, and a Larrivée D-50.
